Banquet "Dresden is(s)t bunt" 2025 - Please register now
What makes a city truly vibrant?
It’s the encounters, the dialogue, and the everyday sense of togetherness. That’s exactly what “Dresden is(s)t bunt” stands for:
Each year, thousands of people gather at the Gastmahl “Dresden is(s)t bunt” to celebrate diversity and hospitality, to connect and engage with one another – effortlessly, over good food and in an open, welcoming atmosphere.
On September 1, 2025, we warmly invite you to join us in transforming Hauptstraße – from Neustädter Markt to Jorge-Gomondai-Platz – into one long, shared table under the open sky. Everyone who approaches others with curiosity and openness is welcome. With food from around the world, meaningful conversations, and cultural contributions, we will send a strong and visible message in support of diversity, openness, and a vibrant civil society.
Diversity needs commitment – and space
The Gastmahl was first initiated in 2015 as a response to exclusion, hostility, and divisive public discourse. Since then, people across Dresden have shown, year after year: our city can be different.
Cultural institutions, universities, associations, initiatives, companies, and public institutions all play their part in shaping a city where openness is lived and shared. Thanks to their commitment, the Gastmahl has become a unique moment of connection.
In 2025, the Gastmahl once again takes place under the motto:
Sharing and listening – whether it’s your favorite dish, an open ear, a cultural performance, or simply your presence – every form of participation counts.
Join us – and feel free to bring someone along!
How it works:
Register for the event here.
As a cultural partner, you will receive one or more tables free of charge. Please let us know how you would like to shape your table and contribute to the event.
Companies that wish to support the Gastmahl by booking a table (subject to a participation fee) are warmly invited to join with their team. A shared table not only fosters encounters within your own organization but also provides a chance to connect with other businesses and actively contribute to the rich diversity of our city.
